The research problem underscores that these doctrinal deductions have not been systematically compiled or thoroughly studied, although some have been explored by scholars . While there are advantages to his deductions, there are also drawbacks. This research seeks to clarify Al-Hakim Al-Jashmi’s doctrinal deductions, highlighting their strengths, weaknesses, and discrepancies. The researcher employed an inductive and analytical approach, identifying doctrinal deduction areas and consolidating them, followed by examination, analysis, and criticism based on abstraction in ideas and rulings. Several findings were reached, notably that deduction is a science that tolerates right and wrong, and that deviation in interpretation and doctrine is one of the main reasons for error in deduction, as well as Al-Hakim Al-Jashmi paid attention to the aspect of deduction in his interpretation, especially in the aspect of belief. He summarized and elucidated the views of his predecessors to the best of his ability, while also transmitting insights from those who preceded him and were influenced by them.
Souilah Akram Abdel Bari, Samir El Hosry, Abdelali Bey Zekkoub Copyright (c) 2024 Souilah Akram Abdel Bari, Samir El Hosry, Abdelali Bey Zekkoub https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/110 Fri, 11 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Eating and Drinking Formula in the Qur’an: A Systematic Study Based on the Integration of Qur’an, Sunnah, Biology and Medicine https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/112
Non-communicable diseases; related to poor eating habits, present a significant burden on people, as well as economic resources; which in-turn, may affect the effectiveness of saying and doing in the path of Allah (S.W.T). This systematic study was designed to review the guidance of Qur’an on how to avoid this burden; by integrating its verses, ahadith, and signs in the modern Biology and Medicine. Tafsir ibn Kathir and Saheeh International Translation were used to identify the verses that are directly related to this burden. The related ahadith were searched from the six canonical books of ahadith of Ahlu Sunnah Wal-Jama’aa. The related biomedical searches were carried out in PUBMED and MEDLINE databases. Both original and review studies; that were published in the last ten years, were selected. The search terms included food, drink, nutrition, risk factors, and non-communicable diseases. Twenty-four verses, one Hadith, and 23 articles were identified. These verses have revealed the formula on eating and drinking which should be adhered in order to accomplish the mission of our creation, and if not adhered, it may lead to both physical and spiritual effects. This study may have profound contribution on the reduction of this burden; which in turn, may help our capacity building on the work that Allah (S.W.T) has commanded us to do, which is to say and do in His path. It may also rekindle the interest of other researchers to research more on this subject and build up on the formula presented in this study.
Abdillah Kitota Copyright (c) 2024 Abdillah Kitota https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/112 Fri, 01 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Medina to House of Wisdom: Islam and Muslim Contribution to Science of History https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/83
This paper explores the pivotal role of Islam and Muslim scholars in advancing the science of history from the early days of Medina to the flourishing intellectual center of The House of Wisdom. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of historical methodologies, preservation of historical knowledge, and cultural essence in both pre-Islamic and Islamic realms. Employing a qualitative research approach, the paper analyzes various genres of Islamic historical writing, including Tabaqat, Tarajim, geographical history, and universal history, as well as the methodologies used in documenting and analyzing historical events, such as logical interpretation, natural law interpretation, and speculative interpretation. Through an examination of libraries, scholars, and the transmission of historical knowledge, the paper highlights the enduring legacy of Islamic historiography and its impact on subsequent historiographical traditions. The research findings underscore the significance of Islamic historiography in shaping our understanding of the past and its ongoing relevance in modern academic research, while also suggesting avenues for future research to further explore the rich heritage of Islamic historical scholarship.
Zhilwan Tahir, Abdulwahed Jalal Nori Copyright (c) 2024 Zhilwan Tahir, Abdulwahed Jalal Nori https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/83 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 An Evaluation of the Gender Gap between Islamic Law and Practice from an Anthropological Perspective on Female Share in Inheritance: A Case Study from Pakistan https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/78
The people in many developing nations are unable to exercise their fundamental human rights. Most women are not allowed to enter, own, or inherit land or other property. As a result, they are unable to purchase land. They become reliant on healthy marriage and family relationships as a result of this deprivation. Everybody has the legal and highly legitimate right to inherit, and Islam has explicitly granted this right to women. Unfortunately, Pakistani tradition differs from Islamic custom in this regard. The main goal of this study is to identify the factors that prevent women from inheriting property. The quantitative research approach has been used to achieve the research's aims. Four public universities in Bahawalpur and Lahore underwent a study. The survey was employed as a research technique. Students and instructors with advanced degrees were chosen for the data collecting. This data was subsequently examined to derive the study's conclusions. The study focuses on two key areas. According to poll results, women are denied their religious right to inheritance even in the highly educated sector because of social, cultural, and economical concerns.
Muhammad Asad Latif Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Asad Latif https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/78 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Maximizing the Role of Parents as a Container for Forming Children of the Qur'anic Generation from the Perspective of Surah Al-Luqman https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/80
Luqman's story and his advice to his son in Surah Luqman highlight the importance of education and the formation of children's character in Islam. Luqman emphasized the importance of faith and moral education as an inseparable unit, by providing a good example as a parent and educator. He taught his children about faith in Allah, giving thanks to Him, and being filial to their parents. Apart from that, Luqman also gets his children used to doing good deeds and being polite in interacting with fellow humans. Luqman's story provides strong guidelines for parents and educators in educating their children well, both academically and spiritually.
Fatimah Az Zahro, Agnia Alviaturr Rohmaniah, Umar Al Faruq Copyright (c) 2024 Fatimah Az Zahro, Agnia Alviaturr Rohmaniah, Umar Al Faruq https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/80 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Oneness in the Laws of Social Norms and the Incoherence of Polytheism and Atheism https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/108
The research represents a scholarly endeavor to open a new dimension in the realm of social norms, deliberating on monotheism amidst the challenges of polytheism and atheism. It delves deeply into the study of the characteristics and attributes of social norms, recognizing their exclusive emanation from a singular divine source. The research problem is structured around resolving the debate within scientific circles that Allah alone cannot govern the human world independently; rather, there exist superior entities capable of influencing and altering destiny, sometimes substituting the divine with mythical entities or alternative systems. The primary objectives of the research include establishing the concept of Allah's unity and its manifestations within social norms. Utilizing a critical-analytical methodology, the study highlights the necessity for deeper exploration of social norms through various approaches. Each investigation, guided by scientific rigor and objectivity, inevitably concludes with a firm conviction in the excellence of Allah and His continuous governance of existence. Furthermore, both ancient and modern atheism face methodological crises in comprehending creation's origin, while polytheism acknowledges Allah's partial authority, yet perceives completeness only through associating additional forces to complement what they perceive as divine imperfections.
Ayoub Laakel Copyright (c) 2024 Ayoub Laakel https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/108 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Cultural Contexts of the Formation of Science in the Social-Historical Context of Islamic Countries https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/84
Positivist definitions of science defined the relationship between culture and science as an external relationship and considered science free from cultural influences. Still, numerous researches and reflections conducted in the field of sociology and philosophy of science show the effective presence of culture in the context of science. By accepting such an influence, postmodern paradigms consider science as a cultural category and explain the relationship between science and culture in a way that leads to absolute epistemological relativity and the production of science under culture. The following article tries to answer the question of whether cultural contexts affected the formation of science in Islamic societies? The research methodology is focused on the common paradigms in the field of the relationship between science and culture with the documentary method and logical reasoning and in the framework of the philosophy of the cultural system and has finally explained the process of how these two influence each other.
Maryam Shamsaei Copyright (c) 2024 Maryam Shamsaei https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/84 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 A Study of Dimensions of Islamophobia in Nigeria: Causes and Solutions https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/86
Islamophobia is an unfounded fear of Islam and, more accurately, of his adherents i.e. Muslims. This phenomenon has found a fertile terrain in Nigeria given her status as a multi-religious society where Muslims and Christians live together as citizens. Over the years, Islamophobia has taken constitutional, diplomatic, educational, financial, and political dimensions in the country. Any Attempt by Muslims to live in line with their religious codes of conduct and without violating the constitutional provisions is often misconstrued by Christians - their religious counterparts- as a systematic way of Islamizing the country. However, the imaginary fear of Islam/Muslims by Christians is belied by the realities on ground. Against this backdrop, this paper will cast a look at Islamophobia as a concept with a view to highlight its various dimensions in Nigeria. After identifying possible causes of Islamophobia, practicable solutions shall be proffered accordingly. To achieve the objective, both historical and analytical methods shall be employed. Available resources as well as events in the recent past reveal that Islamophobia is not unconnected with misinformation about Islam at the instance of some orientalists. It is also a possible consequence of violent activities of insurgent groups like Boko Haram which proclaim the Islamization agenda to terrorize the entire nation. The paper shall show that this insurgent group is ignorance based and stands condemned by the Muslim authority in the country. As such, the paper suggests adequate knowledge and tolerance as critical tools to curtail the menace of Islamophobia. This will go a long way in achieving mutual tolerance and peaceful co-existence among the adherents of Christianity, Islam, and other religions in Nigeria.
AbdulHameed Badmas Yusuf, Olalekan Rasheed Azeez Copyright (c) 2024 AbdulHameed Badmas Yusuf, Olalekan Rasheed Azeez https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/86 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Exploring the Foundations of Peace: An Analytical Study of the Concept of Peace in Islam with Emphasis on the Qurʼān and the Sīrah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/118
Examining the Qurʼān and Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) Sīrah, this study explores the core of peace in Islam. It explains how Islamic teachings on peace are complex through a careful examination of important scriptures and historical settings. In Islam, peace extends beyond the mere absence of violence and includes justice, balance, and spiritual tranquility. The idea of peace is emphasized throughout the Qurʼān as a vital guide for people, societies, and countries to coexist together. The life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is an example of compassion, tolerance, and moral behavior in a variety of settings, making it a beacon of peace. In order to promote and maintain peace, harmony, and brotherhood, the study will examine Islamic concepts in this respect. In order to emphasize the importance of peace in Islam, it will analyze the main sources of Islamic knowledge, including the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the Sīrah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Gawhar Ahmad Khan Copyright (c) 2024 Gawhar Ahmad Khan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/118 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Avicenna's Logic of Ethics https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/111
This article deals with the logic of ethical propositions, i.e. the reason for the integrity of ethical rules from Avicenna's point of view. It begins with the consideration of Ara-e Mahmoudeh (accepted norms), the philosopher's first and most famous keyword, which describes the essence of ethics and explains the reason for its observance in a person's life. Considering Avicenna's logic of ethics and through critical analysis, two new conclusions can be stated: 1) Avicenna's ethics is compatible with contemporary evolutionary explanations of ethics due to its non-platonic character, practicality and minimal rationality. 2) The path taken by Avicenna in his book "Al-Isharat wal-tanbihat (Remarks and Admonitions)", which leads from logic to mysticism, can be continued in his ethical theory metaphorically and certainly through a relatively free reading. In the sense that a person's ethical choice begins with the motive of fulfilling biological needs and human interactions, but the correspondence of an ethical action with nature and the rhythm of life accelerates the continuation of ethical choice and finally interprets a mystical life with a meaning that corresponds to the psychological-evolutionary descriptions of mysticism.
Tayyebeh Ahmadi Copyright (c) 2024 Tayyebeh Ahmadi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://maqolat.com/index.php/i/article/view/111 Fri, 15 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000
