POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSION
Maqolat: Journal of Islamic Studies welcomes constructive scholarly discussion and feedback on articles after publication. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers, researchers, authors, educators, practitioners, and other members of the academic community to raise questions, provide comments, clarify findings, or discuss issues related to published articles.
Post-Publication Comments
Readers who wish to comment on or discuss a published article may contact the Maqolat: Journal of Islamic Studies Office through the journal's official email or available online communication channels.
Comments should:
- be relevant to the published article;
- provide a clear and substantive academic contribution;
- be based on evidence and sound scholarly reasoning;
- maintain a respectful and professional tone; and
- avoid personal attacks, defamatory statements, discriminatory content, or inappropriate language.
The Editorial Team will assess submitted comments for relevance, academic value, ethical considerations, and compliance with the journal's publication policies before deciding whether they are suitable for publication or further discussion.
Author Response
When appropriate, the authors of the original article may be invited to respond to substantive comments, questions, or concerns.
Authors are encouraged to provide a clear, evidence-based, balanced, and constructive response. Responses should address the substantive issues raised and should not contain personal attacks or inappropriate statements concerning the commenter.
The journal may publish the original comment and the author's response as part of the post-publication scholarly record, where appropriate.
Corrections and Concerns
If post-publication discussion identifies a potential error, omission, ethical concern, or other issue that may affect the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of a published article, the Maqolat: Journal of Islamic Studies Editorial Team will assess the matter in accordance with the journal's publication-ethics policies.
Depending on the nature and significance of the issue, Maqolat: Journal of Islamic Studies may publish a Correction, Expression of Concern, or Retraction, where appropriate.
Where an issue concerns research involving children, persons with disabilities, or other potentially vulnerable participants, the Editorial Team may give particular consideration to matters involving informed consent, privacy, confidentiality, participant protection, and research ethics.
Post-publication discussion does not replace the journal's formal procedures for handling allegations of research misconduct.
Editorial Moderation
Maqolat: Journal of Islamic Studies reserves the right to moderate, decline, or remove comments that are irrelevant, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, promotional, misleading, or otherwise inconsistent with responsible scholarly communication and publication ethics.
The journal may also decline comments that cannot be adequately substantiated or that could compromise the privacy, confidentiality, dignity, or safety of research participants.
All post-publication discussions are expected to contribute constructively to the advancement of knowledge in Islamic Studies and to support the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record.
